Bill Cheeks has been a pillar of the US financial literacy community for decades and serves as Vice President of Community Outreach and Employee Engagement for The Financial Literacy Group. In this role Mr. Cheeks applies his vast experience to guide clients on how to effectively financially educate audiences in the workplace, the community and in schools.

Mr. Cheeks regularly designs and implements programs in workplaces and communities across the US and draws upon this experience for clients who seek to help their constituents by enhancing their financial literacy.

For over ten years Mr. Cheeks has contributed greatly to youth financial education as well through his work with the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. In that role he has worked closely on the local level with financial literacy practitioners and sponsors from over 30 US states on financial education programs for young Americans.

Mr. Cheeks’ first career, however, was with Equifax Inc., one of the world’s largest credit information companies. Mr. Cheeks joined the company in 1967 and rose to the position of Vice President of Consumer Education. In this role he developed and launched a successful national financial education program for American high school students. He also made presentations across the country for adults on personal finance topics ranging from budgeting, to credit scoring to identity theft. Additionally, Mr. Cheeks was a frequent guest on radio and television programs on consumer financial matters.

Mr. Cheeks received his postsecondary education at Johnson C. Smith University.
