NGOs serving different populations frequently reach the same conclusion – that financial education is a critically important tool for supporting their varied constituents. Examples include: credit counseling for over-indebted households, and savings and decumulation strategies for those planning for or in retirement. Other customized financial literacy interventions include programs for military members, teachers, entrepreneurs, aspiring homeowners, couples, new parents, recent immigrants, indigenous communities, victims of domestic violence, recipients of public assistance and incarcerated populations.
